Business Unit Director – Top 2 Grocery

Blue Rice is currently working on a rare opportunity with a rapidly-growing drinks company based in the Home Counties. Our client is offering hybrid working with an average of 2 days in the office per week. 

This Business Unit Director – Top 2 Grocery role is focussed on delivering the commercial strategy and being accountable for the translation of sales targets into operational plans with two major grocery retailers.

We are looking for a candidate who displays a strong track record within the branded food or drink sector. Experience of managing strategic relationships with the major grocery retailers for a minimum of 2 years at controller level is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manager strategic relations with key customers (Asda & Morrisons)
• Map out the growth agenda which include promotions, distribution targets & delivery plan
• Lead a cross functional team of 8 colleagues (Account Managers, Customer Marketing & Commercial Finance)
• Work closely with supply chain & factory to ensure exceptional service levels
• Protect and develop annual sales & gross margin account plans in line with strategic goals
• Collaborate with the brand and customer marketing teams to bring the category stories to life instore.

Key Skills Required:

We are looking for a candidate with a growth mindset who has successful examples of winning with the major grocery retailers. Cultural fit and value alignment is key, despite its success our client has never lost sight of its founding vision.

You will have a strong commercial outlook and be a dynamic professional who plans to reach the Sales Director or GM level further down the line.
